Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga called out deputy president William Ruto for not taking a stand regarding the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Raila was speaking on Wednesday the 2nd of December 2020 when he had gone to gunner support for the BBI in Kangari, Murang’a.
According to the former prime minister, the BBI would put an end to some of the historical injustices that have been happening in the region.

Raila also seemed to hit out at Ruto for his close association with the church. According to the ODM leader, Ruto is pretending to care for the church, but he is only looking after himself.
He further questioned the source of Ruto’s wealth, seeing he readily distributes cash to churches in the country.
“I see some of the politicians travelling around in helicopters, carrying cash in sacks and distributing to churches. He claims that he wants to build the church and does not disclose his source of wealth,” Raila said.
“He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and that is why Uhuru and I sat down to solve all these problems so that Kenya can prosper.”
Raila’s words come a day after deputy president William Ruto addressed the BBI issue, further calling for a consensus. However, he did not give his stand on the controversial matter despite his followers waiting eagerly for his decision.
Ruto also called for IEBC to merge the BBI referendum with the 2022 election process. According to him, the country’s economy is in a sorry state. He noted that it does not make sense to spend billions on a referendum only to spend more billions one year later during the election.
Despite Ruto calling for the amendment of some sections, Raila on Monday maintained that time had run out to make changes to the BBI.
He further continued bashing the DP, claiming he is selfish. Raila likened the situation to when a person lures a hen with grains only to capture and slaughter it.
