Raila exercises authority over the planned visit to DP’s home

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)leader Raila Odinga ordered all the party members to desist from early campaigns.

Raila had met with a section of ODM leaders from Siaya County, where he called on all leaders and those aspiring for the party ticket across the country to stop campaigning for the 2022 general elections immediately.

The Former Prime Minister instead advised them to focus on the critical issues currently affecting the country.

The ODM leader’s orders after the party ousted a section of leaders who were perceived as party rebels when they visited Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi’s home.

The members who were expelled from the party were Richard Odengo, former CEC in Governor Anyang Nyong’o administration, Jared Oriadha, Dan Nyamori, Peter Ogwel, Omollo Mberu, Owino Mahawa, and Maina Ochieng.’

The politicians had hired buses for over 200 youth to be ferried to the MP’s home, where they had a meeting with other Jubilee officials.

The delegation was reportedly presenting a memorandum ahead of the planned visit to the Deputy William Ruto’s home in Sugoi.

The Kapseret MP had first met a group in Kisumu when he visited the County earlier last month when they conveyed their desire to join the DP.

They also pleaded for support to assist them in making a living and sustaining them after losing jobs due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Odinga, who has been silent over national issues since he underwent surgery in Dubai, commented on the various issues among them the referendum to which he stated that Kenya has a window to conduct the exercise by the end of the year.

He further blamed the Revenue sharing formula presented by Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kang’ata.

Raila argued that he initially;y supported the formula because he was not fully briefed about what it entails.

According to Raila, the proposal will lead to a loss in revenue for some counties.raila nad
