Roselyn Akombe exposes Chiloba’s threatening email

Former IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe took to her social media on Sunday the 2nd of August 2020, exposing an email from former colleague Ezra Chiloba.

The alleged email was warning Akombe not to try and rewrite history. Chiloba further emphasized that ‘their’ silence is not her license.

“Dear Roselyn, do not attempt to rewrite history. Our silence is not your license,” read the email.

This email comes after Akombe agreed to testify on slain IEBC coworker Chris Msando on Wednesday, the 29th of July. The former commissioner had reached out to Nelson Havi and requested to testify on Chris Msando’s unsolved murder.

“On this anniversary of my colleague Msando’s murder, could you take this case up in the public’s interest? As I have said in the past, I am ready to testify,” she requested.

I need to testify.

Following this email, Akombe also acknowledged on her Twitter that she feels the need to testify on Msando’s murder case.

“It confirms my call for an inquiry. Kenyans deserve the truth. I owe it to you,” she captioned.

Ezra Chilba was IEBC’s CEO until he lost his job in 2019 following a two-year suspension. Since then, he has chosen to live his life away from the pubic’s eye and has never commented on what happened during the 2017 general elections.

This email sparked a discussion on Twitter, with many questioning why Chiloba was emailing Akombe. The topic trended for the better part of Sunday, with many condemning the former CEO.

Famous blogger Robert Alai also wondered why Chiloba might be feeling threatened with Akombe’s testimony.

Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna also encouraged Akombe to stay strong amidst the threats. According to him, Chiloba will pay his dues when his time comes.

Here are some of the tweets on the topic. You can follow the Twitter discussion here.
