Sonko gifts Mzee who cycled 223kms to Moi’s burial with motorbike and Posho mill

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko finally got hold of the 76-year old Mzee Nathan Ambuti who cycled for four days from Kakamega to Kabarak to attend the late former President Moi’s funeral.

Through his social media platforms, the stylish governor had requested the public to help him find Mzee Ambuti whose story had moved him and wanted to reward him for his obvious adoration of the late former President.

Sonko through his social media pages again revealed that he had gifted “the self-made Peace Ambassador of Kenya” with a Posho mill he had requested to start his own business and a motorbike to ease his movements.

“Today my family donated a Posho Mill machine which he requested from me to start his own business in Butere, it’s a diesel-powered machine which can Mill with electricity and Diesel,” read part of his statement.

I noted that he did not have any money for a hotel room, he would sleep on verandahs during his long journey and then resume safari the next day. We have already fueled his machine and ready to Mill. We also bought a motor bike to facilitate his easy movement. Which is full tank, paid insurance, helmet,and all safety gear. Mzee Ambuti made the news after his woes made it to social media through concerned Kenyans. He narrated that he reached the late former President’s home on Tuesday 11th only to be turned away by the security officials and told to come back on Wednesday; the day of the funeral. The late former president was buried next to his late wife Lena Moi.
