State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena announced the death of a member of staff at State House. The member of staff passed on on Tuesday, 24th November.
A statement released by Kanze Dena revealed that Eustace Nyaga Rewa passed on after a short illness. On receiving the sad news, President Uhuru Kenyatta sent his condolences to the family of the late Eustace Nyaga Rewa.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said that Mr Rewa was devoted to his work as a public service servant. Additionally, he said that they will greatly miss his services.
Mr Rewa’s death comes just a few days after the family buried his mother, Agnes Ithima M’rewa. Her burial took place on 20th November.
Another member of staff in State House also succumbed to Covid-19 on 17th September. Edward Seruni Legei was a Presidential Escort Unit officer. At the time of his death, he was also a four-time winner of the Kenya Open Bisley Championships. Mr Legei died while receiving treatment in Nairobi.
The deceased left behind a widow that he married in 2017.
St. John Ambulance CEO
President Uhuru Kenyatta also mourned the death of t John Ambulance CEO Albert Ruturi. He sent his condolences to the family as well as the staff of St John Ambulance.
The head of state noted that Mr Ruturi was an exceptional leader in the humanitarian field. He pointed out that the deceased’s service had played a major role in saving the lives of many Kenyans who were in need.
The President also said that Mr Muturi’s selfless service through the St John ambulance would never go unnoticed.
Kenyatta noted that it was unfortunate Ruturi’s death has come at a time when the country needs him most. This is because the current Covid-19 crisis which has posed numerous challenges in the health sector.
The government has urged all Kenyans to adhere to all the Covid-19 guidelines.
