Waluke’s wife begs Kenyans to help her raise Sh. 727M to pay her husband’s fine to avoid going to prison

The wife to Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke caught many social media users by surprise after she asked Kenyans to help her raise Ksh. 727 million so that she could pay her husband’s fine or he would risk going to prison.

The MP was convicted of fraud charged and on Thursday 25 June was sentenced to 52 years in prison if he could not raise the money.

Roselyn Waluke thanked everyone who stood by them at their most difficult time and urged Kenyans to continue praying for them.

She asked anyone willing to help them to send their financial support to her number as they wait to open an M-Pesa Paybill number.

“You are aware of our problem and I thank those who have stood with us during this challenging time and kindly continue praying for us. We are requesting for your financial assistance. Kindly channel you financial to my number 0728732542 as we wait for an M-Pesa Paybill numbers,” read her statement.

John Waluke was sentenced alongside Grace Wakhungu where they were accused of receiving Ksh. 297 million in a National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) tender. The ruling is subject to appeal within 14 days.

When delivering her ruling, Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Juma of the Anti-Corruption Court pointed out that the sentencing given to the two needed to be serious so that it could act as an example to other officials who would be involved in fraud cases in future.

@Micheal_amonde – “Pretenders are worse than murderers. He has a cycle of heavyweights. DP himself is his best friend. Just go to Sugoi madam.”

@Mangenimoze – “Did he share the loot with the public??? The public has many problems to deal with and Waluke’s jail term is not among them. Give people a break.”

@Bushman – “Waluke’s wife should know that walikula pesa ya public. We can’t add them more. Aende jela.”

@Duke82_shatter – “He stole from the public now he wants the public to help him in fundraising then the public is too stupid.”
