Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Ngirici’s husband, Andrew Ngirici, has warned governor Anne Waiguru over the Kirinyaga County Assembly disputes.
Mr. Ngirici was speaking on the 30th of July 2020, where he also urged Waiguru to humble herself. According to him, this is the only way to resolve the ongoing disputes between her and the MCAs.
Ngirici further urged Waiguru to stop despising Kirinyaga MCAs.
“The governor should stand down and realize that Kirinyaga has real men and stop despising MCAs,” he said.
Mr. Ngirici also criticized Waiguru for bringing outsiders to settle disputes to Kirinyaga. According to him, that was disrespectful to Kirinyaga residents.
“Kirinyaga has its own people who can find solutions to matters affecting us. She should not invite the likes of Fatuma Gedi, Alice Wanga, and Peter Munga to come to talk to us. That was very disrespectful.”
Kirinyaga residents would not elect Uhuru.
Billionaire Ngirici further insinuated that Kirinyaga residents are highly displeased with president Uhuru Kenyatta. According to him, if Uhuru were to go for another term, they would not vote for him.
He accused Uhuru of only listening to specific advisers. Ngirici insisted that this will only strain the political relation between Uhuru and Kirinyaga residents further.
“If President Kenyatta were running for another term, he would have had a difficult time because he only listens to three people. They are families that think Kirinyaga belongs to them.”
According to reports, his wife, Purity Ngirici, is eyeing the top governor seat in the next general election. However, the women rep has not publicly declared her interest.
The Ngiricis have been open critics to governor Anne Waiguru and her leadership. They supported the MCAs in impeaching her, but the Senate overruled the ouster.
Earlier on, he had promised to organize Kirinyaga residents to protest if the Senate chose to hear Waiguru’s case through a committee.
