The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League gets back on track this weekend with some mouth-watering fixtures.
So far, after seven rounds of fixtures ( for most teams), some surprises have already taken place, non-moreso than KCB being table toppers.
The Bankers, under the tutelage of Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno, have been unbeatable this season.
KCB leads the log after six games, with 18 points, a clean sweep of 6 wins. Gor Mahia’s struggles have also seen them hold the eleventh place, though they have three games behind most other teams. They will also revel in their 3-1 win over Mathare on Thursday.
Investments for Wazito also seem to be paying off, with the monied boys sitting pretty at fourth place.
Below, then, we look at some fixtures for tomorrow.
Resurgent Tusker takes on highflying Kariobangi Sharks
Tusker started the season on the wrong footing, drawing one and losing one in their opening two games. But the brewers have picked themselves nicely. They have won four out of their last five games, drawing one.
K-Sharks are no pushovers, though, winning three of their last five games, drawing two. So, two in-form teams meet in the match of the weekend.
Struggling Sofapaka, Ulinzi looking for form
Ulinzi and Sofapaka have had a poor season by their standards. Sitting at 9th and 10th, separated only by goal difference, they will seek to haul themselves up to title conversations tomorrow.
Sofapaka travels to Sudi Stadium to face Nzoia, while Ulinzi Stars travel to Utalii to face Nairobi City Stars. Sofapaka will have their hopes high, with Nzoia having lost one and drawn four of their last five matches.
Ulinzi, with four draws and a loss in their previous five games, will have a sterner test against City Stars. Nairobi City Stars have one win, three draws, and a loss in their last five games.
Bandari, who are seventh on the log, welcome Homeboyz at Mbaraki. Homeboyz, last season runners up, haven’t gotten going and sit dangerously at 15th. Thus, a visit to Mbaraki is not what they need as they seek to pick up some steam.
