Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta, present at a press conference this morning on the sidelines of the EFL Cup semi-final against Liverpool, declared Eddie Nketiah untransferable: “He is our player and he will stay with us”. The Spanish technician seems confident about a future contract extension for the club-trained striker. In November, however, Nketiah rejected an offer to extend his lease. Arsenal therefore take the risk of seeing him go away for free at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports, several clubs would be interested in the idea of recruiting the young center-forward (22 years). In England, the Crystal Palace of Patrick Vieira would have ticked the name of the Gunner to come and expand his attack, and the main interested party would not be against the idea of recruiting him this winter, everything would depend on the price asked by Arsenal, or to wait to sign it for free in June. However, his recruitment would be linked to the situation of the French Jean-Philippe Mateta, on loan to the Eagles by Mainz. The other interested club are Borussia Mönchengladbach, who are said to be already negotiating with the player’s agents for a possible transfer this summer.
