Bundesliga: Before their clash with Bayern, Dortmund puts pressure on

Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win at Wolfsburg on Saturday is back to a Bayern Munich side, who host Eintracht Frankfurt at 6.30pm. The other good deal of the day is to be credited to Bayer Leverkusen, again third in the league since their success against Borussia Monchengladbach (3-1).

It is well known, the danger can come from anywhere in the ranks of Borussia Dortmund. Proof of this is that it is thanks to its two players in the corridor – Raphael Guerreiro and Achraf Hakimi – that Lucien Favre’s team won this Saturday on the Wolfsburg pitch (2-0) on the occasion of the 27th day of the Bundesliga.

This success allowed him to consolidate his second place and put pressure on Bayern Munich, who are only one point ahead of their runners-up before receiving Eintracht Frankfurt (6.30pm).

A week after their 4-0 win over Schalke, Dortmund struggled more offensively, but ended up finding the gap in the 32nd after a fine collective move concluded by Guerreiro in the box. His eighth league goal of the season.

Hakimi, who also had a great season, allowed his side to make the break on a jadon Sancho serve (78th), launched ten minutes earlier. Wolfsburg finished at ten after Felix Klaus was sent off for a tackle on Manuel Akanji (82′).

The good operation of Leverkusen

Besides Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen is the other team to have managed a nice move at the top of the table. Moussa Diaby and his team-mates fell to Borussia Monchengladbach (3-1) and passed their opponent of the day to move up to third on the podium. Marcus Thuram shook the net on an opening by Alassane Plea (52nd), but Leverkusen took the lead thanks to a new double from german nugget Kai Havertz (7th, 58th) and an achievement by Sven Bender (81′).

In the other matches on the programme, Werder Bremen (17th) ended a six-game winless streak by dominating Freiburg (7th) on a dry strike from Leonardo Bittencourt’s right in the first half, while Paderborn (20th) and Hoffenheim (9th) failed to separate (1-1).
