Bundesliga: Manuel Neuer breaks Oliver Kahn’s clean sheet record

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer set a new Bundesliga record, signing a 197th career clean sheet in the top flight of German football during the Bavarians’ success on the lawn of Schalke 04, his former club, Sunday (0-4).

The 34-year-old goalkeeper, voted FIFA’s best goalkeeper of 2020, improved on the previous record set by former Bayern and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn. Kahn needed 557 Bundesliga games, under the colors of Bayern and Karlsruhe, to reach 196 clean sheets, while Neuer stole the record from him in 423 league games, with Bayern and Schalke.
