FC Barcelona: Luis Suarez says no to Juventus!

According to Catalan media information, Luis Suarez said no to Juventus for administrative reasons.

The Luis Suarez soap opera had to be quickly settled. After Ronald Koeman’s famous one-on-one meetings with his players, it was decided that the Uruguayan striker was now unwanted. And very quickly, Juventus presented itself as the number 1 option to welcome the 33-year-old striker, whose salary is very expensive for Barça (we are talking about around 15 M € per year net).

There was even talk of a total agreement between the champion of Italy and the former Liverpool and Ajax. However, the player has gradually started to slow down the operation, requiring FC Barcelona to pay him the entirety of his last year of contract in particular. On the side of the Catalan club, we have started to put pressure on the player, by excluding him from part of the collective training sessions, or by not calling him for the friendly match played against Nàstic de Tarragona last Saturday.

He cannot get Italian citizenship quickly

And now the serious Catalan radio RAC-1 unveils a small bomb this Tuesday. Luis Suarez would have refused to join Juventus. Not because he is not seduced by the Turin project, but quite simply for administrative reasons. Thus, he could not obtain Italian nationality (for which he can be a candidate thanks to his wife, who has it) before October 6, when the clubs must submit their list of registered players for the Champions League. . Juventus have currently filled their quota of extra-community players and the Uruguayan could not be listed.

Does that mean he will stay in Barcelona? Not necessarily, since according to the Catalan media, he has other options on the table, and his will would be good to leave Camp Nou. In recent weeks, we had notably mentioned a possible return to Ajax, as well as a rumor leading him to the side of Atlético de Madrid. To be continued …
