The France team has a remarkable and noticed offensive power. But we wondered how the substitutes were going to behave. With the two preparation matches, we have a little idea.
When we talk about the France team, necessarily, we are talking about the starting eleven. From Pogba, Kanté, the three in front of Benzema, Griezmann and Mbappé. But in the two preparatory matches, against Wales in Nice (3-0) and against Bulgaria in Saint-Denis, at the Stade de France (3-0), the substitutes also stood out.
Of the six achievements of the Blues for these two friendly matches, only three came from the titular attacking trio. If Karim Benzema did not find the net, Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring at the Allianz Riviera when Antoine Griezmann, the striker, for the moment, the most effective, he offered himself two sumptuous achievements.
The substitutes in great shape
But the other three goals were scored by entrants. During the Nice meeting, it was Ousmane Dembélé, very fit in training, it seems, and author of a most regular season with FC Barcelona, who stood out at the very end of the match. In the Diyonisian enclosure, it is another attacker, announced on the bench, who showed what he was capable of.
This is of course Olivier Giroud. The Blue, who was not to play as much, came into play in the 41st minute to replace an injured Karim Benzema and paid himself the luxury of offering himself a brace (83rd, 90th). Lucas Digne, who came into play twice early enough instead of Lucas Hernandez, also caused several chances with his crosses.
Another element that came into play twice, Wissam Ben Yedder. The Monegasque is the one who offered another profile for the attacks of the Blues and it is he who gives the second goal, against Bulgaria to Olivier Giroud. Other elements could also do good during the match, we think in particular of Thomas Lemar and especially Kingsley Coman. With these other weapons, Didier Deschamps will be able to respond and especially upset his plans during the match if what he sees does not give him satisfaction.
