This Saturday afternoon saw Valencia (11th) receive Celta Vigo (10th) as part of the 38th and last day of La Liga. If the stakes were not huge, the winner of this meeting was guaranteed to end the season in the first part of the table, at best 9th in the event of Osasuna’s defeat against Mallorca on Sunday.
Slightly dominating the debates, especially in the first period, Valencia found the net at the half hour mark through Maxi Gomez who took the ball back from 6m to open the scoring (28th). The Che club definitely took shelter thanks to the goal against his camp by Nestor Araujo (60th). The score was no longer changing and Valence therefore passed 9th.
