Ligue 1: exchange of referees with Portugal

Little novelty for this weekend in Ligue 1! The meeting between the Girondins de Bordeaux and RC Lens will not be refereed by the French … but by the Portuguese! “In fact last April a cooperation agreement was concluded between the French Football Federation and its Portuguese counterpart (FPF), for an exchange of referees”, indicates the LFP in an official statement on its site.

Luis Godinho (central referee), Rui Teixeira (assistant referee 1) and Bruno Jesus (assistant referee 2), as well as Bruno Esteves and Miguel Nogueira for the VAR, will therefore lead the duel between Bordeaux and Lensois. Portuguese supporters will discover Willy Delajod, accompanied by Benjamin Pages and Philippe Jeanne, then Eric Watteleir and Alexandre Castro at the VAR. The five French will referee the match between Paços Ferreira and Sporting Braga on Saturday.
