Ligue 1: thanks to Under, OM snatch a draw against Lille

OM hosted Lille on behalf of the 21st day of Ligue 1. The Marseillais approached the meeting with confidence after the historic success against Bordeaux on the last day. Facing them, Lille 11th at kick-off, who hoped to finally start a series and therefore start a rise in the standings. The Mastiffs started the game perfectly thanks to a good header from Botman (15th). Dominating, Lille put themselves in danger half an hour into the game. Benjamin André, guilty of two avoidable faults, was excluded and therefore left his partners at 10 for more than an hour.

The second period was logically to OM’s advantage. Jorge Sampaoli’s men clearly lacked precision and idea in the final meters. Despite more than 75% possession of the ball, OM still missed their chances like Milik, clumsy in front of goal. The Lille defense suffered, but each time managed to intervene at the last moment. But as often, OM relied on the talent of their providential player: Cengiz Under. On a marvel of curled strike from the right, he equalized (1-1, 75th). Despite a few chances at the end of the match, OM were unable to score a second goal despite clear chances, especially in added time. With this draw, OM remain 3rd in Ligue 1. LOSC are back in the top 10.
