While previous shirt number legislation restricted Ligue 1 teams and prevented the allocation of fanciful numbers, this will change. Indeed, the Professional Football League has decided to modify this for the 2022/2023 season.
From now on, the various Ligue 1 teams will have more freedom in the allocation of numbers since whole numbers from 1 to 99 can be used. A rule remains and it is quite logical, number 1 will be reserved for goalkeepers.
