After Timothée Kolodziejczak, Andy Delort, and André-Pierre Gignac, Florian Thauvin will become the fourth French player in the history of the Tigers. If the first two did not necessarily have the expected success, the third named has become a real legend in a few seasons in Mexico. And the latter was of paramount importance in the signing of the 2018 World Champion.
“For some time now, we’ve been following the player who obviously interested us a lot. We knew that the contract with Olympique de Marseille was ending and, in the end, I think we made a team effort, it’s our way of working. There was a first approach from André (Gignac), he was obviously fundamental in this contract. The possibility was raised, André spoke with him, the player showed his interest and from there we started. I started negotiating with his representative, to make people understand what we wanted ”, explains Mauricio Culebro the vice-president of the Mexican club to Provence. The supporters of the Tigers can (once again) thank Gignac.
