OM: Cedric Bakambu unavailable against Lille

The first winter recruit from Olympique de Marseille, Cedric Bakambu (30) was present in front of journalists this Friday for his official presentation at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus training center. The opportunity for the Congolese international striker (38 selections, 13 goals) to deliver his first feelings and in particular this desire to return to Ligue 1: “I grew up in Vitry-sur-Seine, I had played in France at the start of my career, with a brief stint in Sochaux. Coming back to L1, I had it in the back of my mind. Better late than never”.

However, the former Villarreal scorer will have to wait to make his debut in the French championship. The reason ? His contract has not yet been approved by the LFP and he will therefore not be available for the match against LOSC, scheduled for this Sunday (8:45 p.m.) at the end of the 21st day of Ligue 1. Patience therefore for the Marseille supporters before see Bakambu in his new colors, he who must also find an optimal state of form while his last official match dates back to November 14 during the Congolese victory against Benin (2-0).
