Invited Monday on the set of BFM Marseille-Provence, OM communications director Jacques Cardoze has confirmed that Marseille defender William Saliba wants to stay at the club next season. The 21-year-old Frenchman is on loan from Arsenal to the Marseille club until June and would like to extend his adventure in the south of France. He is contracted with the Gunners until June 2024.
“There is a budget to stick to and there is a desire on the part of the owner to ensure that this club is in balance. There are financial fair play requirements. Saliba? William’s will is beyond doubt. He obviously told Pablo, he told me again on the pitch on Saturday evening. He is sincere. Now there is a contractual reality. It belongs to Arsenal. Now, if his will is to stay with us, we’ll see. Everyone wants him to be there next season.”said Cardoze about the central defender who has played 51 games with OM this season.
