OM: William Saliba would have changed his mind…

On loan to the Marseille club until the end of the season, the defender remains evasive about his future. And the latest news from England would not be good.

Near the Orange Vélodrome, fans of Olympique de Marseille are wondering about the next summer transfer window of their favorite club. Will OM succeed in overriding the recruitment ban imposed by FIFA? If this is the case, several questions to highlight, including that of the future of William Saliba (20 years old).

Loaned by Arsenal without a purchase option, the former defender of AS Saint-Étienne has a market value that is theoretically inaccessible for Olympian finances (30 M€ minimum). But yesterday, Provence claimed that the player felt comfortable in his Marseille cocoon and that his Marseille adventure was likely to continue.

Conflicting information

But on two conditions. OM must qualify for the juicy Champions League and should not be handicapped by the recruitment ban. Needless to say. Except that this Thursday, the English media Soccer London shows a very different trend. Clearly, the player would like to return to the Gunners.

Does the French defender absolutely want to prove to the Gunners that he can win at the Emirates? Does he want to keep his English salary (2.9 M€/year)? The question arises, not to mention the fact that Arsenal, like OM, is still far from having validated its place in the Champions League. As a reminder, Saliba is linked to the London club until 2024.
