On Matchday 6 of the Premier League, Fulham hosted Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage. Authors of a draw (1-1) against Sheffield United last weekend, the Cottagers were still aiming for their first success of the season. Held in check by Brighton (1-1) on his lawn on the last day, Palace could enter the top 10 in case of victory this afternoon. Roy Hodgson’s men quickly opened the scoring thanks to Riedewald who took advantage of an excellent service behind Zaha’s defense to score the first goal (0-1, 8th).
Just after the hour mark, Crystal Palace made the break thanks to Zaha receiving an excellent cross from Batshuayi (0-2, 64th). Fulham finished the meeting at ten with the expulsion of Kamara (86th). In additional time, the Cottagers reduced the score by Cairney (1-2, 90 + 5) Thanks to their third success of the season, Crystal Palace temporarily seized fifth place in the standings.
