At Sky Sports, Maucirio Pochettino has declared himself open to rebounding at a club that is not necessarily part of the elite of English football. A statement that comes as rumours send him to Newcastle.
Mauricio Pochettino is back on the market. The Argentinian, who arrived from Tottenham at the end of 2019, spoke in an interview with Sky Sports on Friday. He opened the door to a return to another Premier League club, claiming he was not completely closed to taking charge of a team outside the top six.
“The top six changes all the time”
“The problem is which clubs are in this top six. He changes all the time. Tottenham are not in the top six, neither is Arsenal. You have to respect all the clubs. They all work and invest money. Every season, the clubs have the ambition to be in the top six or the top four. I don’t think any club should be underestimated,” said the former Paris Saint-Germain player.
Mauricio Pochettino’s statement comes at a time of many rumours sending him to Newcastle to be the figurehead of the club’s takeover by Saudi funds. Other coaches have been mentioned, including Rafael Benitez.
