Real Madrid: Karim Benzema knows where he wants to retire!

Date:

In an interview granted in Spain, Karim Benzema revealed where he wants to retire.

If there is one player who is unanimous in Madrid at the moment – and for a few years now – it is Karim Benzema. Once again, the Frenchman is coming out of a great season, which he could possibly end in the best possible way with a European title on Saturday evening. With 27 goals and 12 assists in La Liga making him the top player of the season and above all 15 goals in 11 appearances in the Champions League, he carried the team on his shoulders and confirmed his status as an idol of the Bernabéu.

But inevitably, from the height of his 34 years, several questions arise around him. For how many more years will it be efficient? Should we look for a replacement? Will he retire at Real Madrid? Is a return to Lyon possible? In an interview with the show El Chiringuito de JugonesBenzema was asked about his future.

Retirement in Madrid is a big yes!

“It’s a question (about a possible retirement in Madrid, editor’s note) to which I will answer you: yes, or… yes. I don’t see any other club that can give me what I have here in Madrid. You can look at all the other clubs… but Madrid is Madrid. I don’t know yet when I will extend (laughs). I still have a year on my contract, I’m having fun, and we’ll see, but now I’m in Madrid.”said the tricolor striker.

Suffice to say that we risk seeing Benzema put on the Madrid tunic for a few more years, since he seems to have no intention of packing his bags. We imagine that neither the principal concerned nor Florentino Pérez will put too many obstacles in the negotiations for the adventure to continue for a little while longer… This, however, risks cooling the Lyonnais, who dreamed of a return from the prodigal son to end his career at home.
