In the Sardegna Arena in Cagliari, the formation of Eusebio Di Francesco overthrows the promoted Crotone on the occasion of the 5th day of the Italian championship (4-2). Dominators at the start, the locals were however surprised by the red lantern. Junior Messias procuring a first frank action (17th), before converting the try with a flat left foot – in front of a very apathetic Diego Godin – following a retreating center from Arkadiusz Reca (0-1, 21st) . But a fault by Ahmad Benali on the outskirts of its surface was not long in putting Cagliari back on the right track. The Greek Charalampos Lykogiannis then took charge of giving the sentence, by wrapping wonderfully with his left foot the axial free kick which was going to lodge in the skylight of Alex Cordaz (1-1, 25th). And if the premises no longer held the ball, El Cholito Giovanni Simeone spun against beating Cordaz again, following a deep service from Joao Pedro (2-1, 35 ‘).
The end of the first act got carried away and Godin released a long touch from its surface … on Salvatore Molina who triggered an instant volley (2-2, 43rd). Cagliari had not said his last word and the young Gabriele Zappa centered a ball which was about to slip out on the skull of Riccardo Sottil, whose perfectly crossed shot was decisive (3-2, 45th). When we got back from the locker room, Crotone’s business was not getting better. Already warned in the 17th, Luca Cigarini tackled Joao Pedro with too much commitment before leaving his own at ten (48th). The Sardinians insisted and Nahitan Nandez forced Cordaz to a superb horizontal (65th). But Crotone did not intend to lose without a fight and the very restless Simy played with Godin to afford the 3-3 ball, finally rejected by Alessio Cragno (82nd). The boat was missed, Joao Pedro even spiking the addition for his own (4-2, 85th). With their second success of the season, Cagliari has moved up to 10th place in Serie A, while FC Crotone remains last with a draw and four defeats.
