For the 5th day of Serie A, La Fiorentina hosted the Udinese team on their home ground. With only four and three points respectively after four days, these two teams hoped to react this Sunday and thus start their season. Quickly in this match, the Viola quickly put the foot on the ball and was rewarded from the 11th minute of play through Gaetano Castrovilli who took advantage of a good center to deceive the opposing goalkeeper. Dominators, the partners of Franck Ribéry, who were absent from the day, doubled the mark ten minutes later. The first scorer of the meeting was this time on the pass and gave Nikola Milenkovic a nice header to allow his team to soar to the score.
The visitors did not intend to let go of the game, however. Shortly before the break, Okaka closed the gap with a nice header on a good serve from Rodrigo De Paul (44 ‘). Relaunched in the match, the Udinese players were again surprised at the start of the second half. Castrovilli with a sublime strike went for his double and allowed Fiorentina to regain a little margin on the scoreboard. But definitely in this match, the visitors did not want to let go and Okaka also went for his double in the 86th minute. A further reduction in the score, however, too late. The locals finally won 3-2 and thus moved up to 10th place in the standings. As for the 18th visitors, business is not getting better at all.
