At the end of the match between Crystal Palace and Everton, the Toffees supporters invaded the lawn of Goodison Park to celebrate the retention of their team in the Premier League. Finding himself in the middle of the field between Everton supporters, Patrick Vieira had been attacked by one of them, before the former Gunners hit him with a brush.
The images have since toured England and Europe while the British police announced this Friday to open an investigation into the gesture of the Frenchman:“We are working with Everton to gather all available CCTV footage and we are talking to witnesses. No formal complaints have been received and investigations into the incident are ongoing.”
