More and more news is revealed with the Beta versions of Android 11 that are being released by Google. Since the first test version released to the public in early June, we saw some news that integrate Google Home into the system’s strength menu and today we have more news that have been discovered and bring improvements for those who have smart devices at home.
According to Android Police, a user reported that the new menu with improved control for smart devices is now available for any Google Pixel with Android 11. The tested device was using Developer Preview 4 and it was enough to install the updated APK of the Google Home app for see the new settings available, which are available on the version 184.108.40.206, which for now is only available on the APKMirror website.
Among some of the perceived changes we have the Google Home icon with the name of the house centered just above the controls. Beside there is a menu with 3 points to add more shortcuts for devices and just below we have the buttons and sliders that work on devices like lamps that can have their brightness sliding to the right.
According to Diogo Hayakawa, who tested the feature, everything is working perfectly now and several shortcuts can be added with the possibility of sliding across the screen to access all of them, different from what was seen previously.
It is very interesting to see this type of integration that turns the phone into a control center for the whole house and it would be even cooler if this type of function were available in a future version of Android TV, which could turn the largest screen in the house into a control universal, however, what we have confirmed so far are the functions for the phone, which is already a great progress.
If you want to test the novelty keep in mind that you must have a phone with Android 11 at least in the DP4 version to work. Download the most updated application through the link below:
