THE Apple should increase the Touch Bar of its next notebooks. The US Patent & Trademark Office published, on Thursday (26), the registration of a patent requested by the iPhone manufacturer that provides for a MacBook with a pressure-sensitive Touch Bar.
Apple patent provides for MacBook with pressure-sensitive Touch Bar
Details of the patent filed in May 2019 at the United States Patent and Trademark Office were revealed by PatentlyApple. According to the specialized website, the documents feature a Touch Bar, like the one on the MacBook Pro, only with circuits capable of identifying the pressure level made on the screen during touch.
The possible uses of the feature have not been revealed. But, as suggested by the 9to5Mac on the same day, the increment in the MacBook Pro component can help prevent accidental touches, a common complaint among owners of Apple’s most advanced notebooks with macOS.
This would be another application to the technology introduced by Apple during the launch of the first Apple Watch. In addition, since 2015, the feature has appeared on the iPhone 6S (3D Touch) screen and on the MacBooks trackpad under the name of Force Touch, putting an end to the mechanical button on the computers peripheral.
Despite the record, there is no forecast for a MacBook with a pressure-sensitive Touch Bar.
