Gigabyte reinforces debut of new RTX 3080, 3070 Ti and RX 6500 XT

Through certifications issued in Europe, Gigabyte may have confirmed the existence of three long-awaited new boards from AMD and Nvidia — the new RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 Ti with higher memory capacity, as well as the Radeon RX 6500 XT, which promises to offer a viable potent option for the entry-level segment.

the leaker @momomo_us found Gigabyte’s certifications in the archives of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the same body whose documents were responsible for leaking several other GPUs shortly before their release. The data was published this week and cite customized models of the three new boards in different lines of the brand.

The new version of the RTX 3080, which now brings 2 GB more memory, has 10 different models, belonging to the AORUS Xtreme, AORUS Master, Gaming, Vision and Eagle lines, in addition to equipping a new edition of the AORUS Gaming Box, the GPU external brand, currently available only with the 10GB RTX 3080.

Meanwhile, the revamped variant of the RTX 3070 Ti, which doubles the RAM capacity, will be released in the AORUS Master, Gaming, Vision and Eagle lines. Finally, more basic, Radeon RX 6500 XT will be released only in Gaming and Eagle variants. The documentation doesn’t detail the specs for each card, but several rumors and leaks have already brought out much of the details of the solutions, including a possible launch window.

GPUs are slated to debut in January

As far as we know, the new versions of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 Ti won’t bring big news, keeping the specifications of the original models, but now increasing the VRAM capacity, which goes to 12 GB on the high-end card and to a respectable 16 GB for the premium intermediate.

The highlight goes to the launch of AMD, which should debut the complete Navi 24 chip, in a configuration of 1,024 cores, 16 Ray Accelerators for Ray Tracing and 4 GB of memory. The RX 6500 XT would be especially attractive for its pricing, which could make it a strong candidate to meet the demand for affordable GPUs, as well as its own limited VRAM, which would prevent it from becoming a valid choice for cryptominerators.

Also according to rumors, Nvidia’s updated boards may be announced as early as early January during the company’s presentation at CES 2022. AMD’s bet for the entry-level market, on the other hand, does not yet have such a specific deadline, expected sometime in the first quarter of 2022.
