This new feature, announced during Google I / O in 2019, should finally allow the use of Google’s voice assistant in an interface suitable for use in the car.
The driving mode of Google Assistant could land very soon among all Android smartphone users. If this interface was already spotted a few weeks ago, members of the XDA-Developers forum have noticed on several of their devices, the appearance of a menu Driving Mode in the Google Assistant settings integrated with Google Maps. Inside this menu, they found a button to activate the driving mode, as well as settings to manage the reception of calls and messages while driving.
The driving mode interface displayed here seems to be a little different from that presented by Google during the Google I / O 2019 conference. For now, the Mountain View firm may be in the process of doing simple tests of this new interface, it being obviously only deployed for a handful of users.
