During the event held on the afternoon of Tuesday (15), Apple confirmed that the new versions of its operating systems for mobile devices will be released on Wednesday (16). In addition to iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, watchOS, used in the Apple Watch, and tvOS, from Apple TV, will also be updated.
The new versions of the systems were announced in June this year during WWDC 2020, an event that brings together developers of the company’s platforms. Among the novelties, there is an application drawer to facilitate the organization of the home screen, the possibility of adding interactive widgets next to the application icons and Picture in Picture (PiP) mode to watch videos in the corner of the screen while using other apps.
In all, 16 company devices will receive the update for the new iOS 14, including older phones, such as the first-generation iPhone SE, launched in 2016.
The iPadOS 14 brings similar news and adds some specific features for larger devices, such as a feature that allows you to write messages and emails using the Apple Pencil pen.
To check if news is available and update your device, simply access the Settings application, tap on the “General” option and then on “Software update”. You will be notified if a new version of the operating system is ready to be downloaded and installed.
