Everyone knows how much the iOS system is “blocked” and we also know that Apple works hard to keep the system secure. However, it seems that this block is not that strong. Unc0ver hackers have already managed to release jailbreak to the line iPhone 12 running iOS 14.3.
Through Twitter, the Pwn20wnd account reported that the version “v6.0.0” of unc0ver software is released for devices with iOS 11.0 up to 14.3. This means that owners of iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, with the 14.3 system, can resort to jailbreak to unlock their devices, although it is not recommended.
Unc0ver presents itself as a “prison break”. According to the website, this “means that you can have the freedom to do what you want with your iOS device. By allowing you to change what you want and operate within your reach, unc0ver unlocks the true power of your iDevice ”, he adds. In other words, through their software, the user can release other features for their device.
According to the website XDA-Developers, several people “were able to easily jailbreak new devices [linha iPhone 12]”. It is also worth mentioning that it is the first time that jailbreak supports the Apple A14 processor, a chip in the new iPhones.
iOS 14.4 fixes security holes
On Friday, the same Pwn20wnd account reported that the tool uses an exploit based on a kernel failure (CVE-2021-1782). However, in January of this year, Apple released iOS 14.4 (along with iPadOS 14.4) which corrected kernel and WebKit loopholes on its devices. Therefore, iPhones with iOS 14.4 cannot receive 14.3 again and, consequently, are left without access to the jailbreak.
