Lionsgate is preparing worldwide distribution of a new biopic, this time about Michael Jackson, one of pop’s biggest stars, who died in 2009.
The feature will be produced by Graham King, the same person responsible for Bohemian Rhapsodywhich tells the story of Freddie Mercury, former lead singer of Queen.
Entitled of Michael, the biographical film also features the production of John Branca and John McClain, holders of the artist’s estate. The screenplay is in the hands of John Logan, three-time Oscar nominee.

According to Lionsgate, Michael must delve into the complicated trajectory of the King of Pop, including the controversial personal issues in which he was involved in his lifetime. The feature will also not fail to rely on the singer’s most iconic performances.
Graham King says he met Michael Jackson’s family in 1981 and says he is proud to be able to bring the artist’s legacy to the big screen. “Sitting in Dodger Stadium, watching the Victory Tour, I would never have imagined that some 38 years later I would have the privilege of being a part of this film,” says the producer.
