Between Knives and Secrets, the 2020 Golden Globe nominated success, will become a trilogy with sequences produced by Netflix. According to Variety, the streaming company bought the rights to the second and third films in a $ 450 million deal.
The 2019 film brought together big names in Hollywood cinema in a story whose atmosphere is similar to the cinematic adaptations of Agatha Christie’s books. Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are just a few of the heavyweight cast who star in the mystery.
The sequences will again feature detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) and will be directed and scripted again by Rian Johnson, who directed the first film and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The second chapter of the franchise should be shot in Greece, still in 2021.
Between Knives and Secrets it was a box office success, raising $ 311 million worldwide, exceeding a budget of $ 40 million. The feature also won an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay, but was eventually defeated by Parasite, by Bong Joon-Ho.
There is no set date for the premiere of the Between Knives and Secrets, but it is expected that by the end of the year there will be more information about the launch forecast. The first film is available on Amazon Prime Video.
