New Pixel Watch images confirm minimalist look

The look of the first smart watch marketed by Google was confirmed through new images that show various advertising pieces with the product. The Pixel Watch should have a design geared towards minimalism, with simple lines, a rounded body and just a physical button on the right side of the construction.

The photos were released by well-known leaker Jon Prosser, who had already revealed 3D renderings supposedly based on secret images — possibly the same ones that were shown recently. Pixel Watch should still have a screen with almost no side borders, allowing a huge frontal use by the display. An internal microphone opening is positioned on the side, to enable voice command functions, for example.

The promotional pieces also show bracelets in black, white, orange and yellow, which suggests the availability of several options with common fitting — several brands do the same with their watches, as they see a very profitable market in the experience of personalization through colorful bracelets.

In addition to the device design, it is also possible to see some revamped functions of the Wear OS, Google’s operating system aimed at watches, which is already installed in various devices of the type, such as Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4. The menus seem to follow the same minimalist logic, with simple elements, solid colors and intuitive functions. Screens shown include the main face with time, incoming phone calls, and navigation in the maps application.

As the images have already been used for rendering 3D models for months, it is possible that Google has implemented changes in the construction of the device over this period. Anyway, the photos indicate the paths that Gigante das Buscas wants to take for its wearable.

There is still no official date for the launch of the watch, but it is certain that the presentation will only take place next year. Even so, Jon Prosser says that the product “is getting closer and closer to an official release”, and therefore is not at risk of cancellation, as would have supposedly happened with the collapsible cell phone Pixel Fold.
