While some are more attentive to rumors involving iPhones, iPads and other Apple devices, it may end up unnoticed that the Cupertino giant most likely also has plans for the auto and smart lens markets.
These last two sectors are much more involved in secrets and that is why news about them is not so routine. However, according to the newspaper The Information, warm news is coming involving Apple Glass.
The vehicle heard from an anonymous source linked to Apple that the Apple would have worked out the last details involving the lenses of its smart glasses. A semitransparent and polarized model was chosen, with a size slightly larger than a regular lens, and prototyping would have already been carried out successfully.
Now Foxconn would be using its factories in Chengdu, southwest China, to produce the lenses on a testing scale. The idea would be to make adjustments to the production line to deliver products with a reduced rate of defects, reducing the need for disposal when Apple Glass is finally produced on a commercial scale.
Despite this novelty, it is still too early to imagine this product coming to life: Apple is very cautious about its new projects, and does not postpone them for as long as it deems necessary until they reach a good quality standard. Market sources, therefore, realize that the Apple Glass may be a reality only from 2022.
An interesting technology that the device may offer is grade auto-correction, a technology recently patented by the Cupertino giant. But it is worth remembering that patents can often only be shelved.
Do you think we are close to Apple Glass, or is it still a product for the distant future? Tell us in the comments!
