This Tuesday morning (30), the São Paulo Civil Police started an operation against a gang that used online scams through the 123 Importados sales website. In all, eight arrest warrants and 12 search and seizure warrants are carried out.
The authorities carry out the procedure at the addresses of suspects in the interior of São Paulo, more specifically in the city of Jaú. People are taken to the headquarters of the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) in the state capital.
According to the Civil Police, the pitfalls were to attract victims through low prices compared to what is found in the market. Consumers started to order the products, paid the amount requested, but did not receive it.
The portal G1 informs that, until 9:40 am on Tuesday (30), eight suspects had already been detained in the city of Jaú.
In early May this year, the column Detective TudoCelular made an alert for the amount of complaints on the internet and other inconsistencies in the information presented by the store to its customers.
Among them were the price discrepancy and the payment condition only in cash on the boleto. In addition, the company gave delivery time between 30 to 45 working days. At the time, the retailer appeared in TV advertisements on Grupo Bandeirantes stations and on RedeTV !.
Still at the time, the company returned to the column contact to explain that it did not have “No complaints for late delivery or people who did not receive the product, being customers”, in addition to completing “The purchase of products in large quantities from National Distributors, which sends the order directly to the customer’s address”.
