Tesla has officially canceled the launch of the Tesla Model Y Long Range RWD, long-range, rear-wheel-drive version of its electric SUV. Without giving any explanations, the company asked customers who had already booked the vehicle to choose another option on the brand’s website, which follows with only two variants of the model in question.
In addition to making customers furious with this cancellation, Tesla suggests that if they do not choose another version of the Model Y or any other car of the brand, they could lose value in money deposited for the Long Range RWD, which was in the order of US$ 50,000.
Another point of attention for the deal involving the now-defunct Model Y Long Range is the Full Self-Driving package, which offers drivers an advanced semi-autonomous steering system. At the time of booking this car, it cost $7,000, but now, it doesn’t cost less than $10,000.

Tesla, at the time of orders, guaranteed that if those interested changed their minds about the version of the car, they could keep the contracted options. But it’s curious, though, that people can’t just cancel the deal and get their money back. Tesla, of course, will need to explain.
