Twitter should allow you to undo the sending of tweets and, therefore, prepare an interface for the new feature. After users click on “Tweet”, the social network will inform you that the message has been sent and display a progress bar. The area will be displayed for about five seconds, during which it will be possible to cancel the post.
The information was revealed on Friday (5) by developer Jane Manchun Wong, which usually anticipates changes to social media apps. With the new feature, Twitter will have something similar to what is available in Gmail, which, within a few seconds, allows you to cancel sending an email.
Rumors about the option to undo sending tweets have existed at least since July 2020. At the time, the social network did a survey to find out what users think about the idea of creating a paid version of the service. In the questionnaire, the company asked what people thought about various features that were unavailable.
One of them provided the button to cancel the sending. At the time, Twitter planned to display the option for 30 seconds – not for 5 seconds. The survey also asked what users thought about the possibility of using custom colors in profiles, posting videos in high resolution, having advanced statistics on engagement, among other options.
Twitter can free up resources for all users
News about the ability to undo tweets came back in February, when the company was still planning a paid plan. The so-called Super Follow was announced days later without extra resources. Instead, it is an option for followers to pay to receive exclusive content from their favorite profiles.
With the paid version, influencers can charge $ 4.99 a month for offering exclusive tweets and newsletters, as well as including followers in a restricted group. Since Twitter did not offer extra features in the subscription plan, it is possible to expect that the option to undo the sending of tweets will be released to all users.
