YouTube announced new features for channels using video premieres. The option, created to make users watch a newly published video together, registered an increase of 85% since March 1, 2020. With that in mind, the platform presented options for trailers, heating and personalized countdown for premieres.
With the trailers, youtubers will be able to publish a short video, between 15 seconds and 3 minutes, to invite their subscribers to follow the premiere. According to the platform, the purpose of the call is to help fans of the channel get into the mood of the new video and encourage them to set the reminder for when it is broadcast for the first time.
Channels will also be able to warm up for video premieres. Through the so-called live redirect, it is possible to perform a live that anticipates the new video. At the end of the live broadcast, viewers are automatically directed to the premiere. YouTube will have personalized countdown
Also according to the platform, video premieres have a new look for the countdown. Today, the service already displays a timer when the transmission of the new video is about to begin. The accountant, however, has a standard look and does not always appeal to content creators.
To resolve the situation, YouTube will offer some themes for the countdown. With the change, when scheduling a premiere, it will also be possible to define what the stopwatch will appear before the video. There is still no exact date for when this option will be available, but the platform says it will be released in the coming months.
