A video footage showing a witch doctor performing rituals to an ODM politician in Narok County a head of the August 8 polls was played in court as part of evidence against his win.
Jubilee candidate Wilson Ole Masikonde decided to call the witch-doctor identified as Robert Mwongela to explain to the court how he was hired by Kikaet Kuyu to help the politician win the seat.
In a video posted by Citizen TV and seen by TUKO.co.ke, Mwongela is seen holding what is believed to be a carcass of the Columbus monkey used in the rituals.
Mwongela has been a witch-doctor for the past 20 years and hails from Kitui County, he told the court as reported by Citizen TV.
Mwongela told the court that after the monkey was killed, its skin was tied round the body of Kuyu and a skin bracelet fitted on his wrist.
He said that this was the charm that attracted the electorate to his side dealing the Jubilee man a resounding defeat.
Another concoction was smeared around polling stations and the remainder of the paraphernalia was dumped outside Masikonde’s home.
The witch-doctor agreed to testify against his client because he was only paid KSh 20,000 of the agreed KSh 500,000, he told the court.
His account of the events was corroborated by Masikonde’s neighbour who had said they found the witchcraft paraphernalia outside Masikonde’s home.
Kuyu through his lawyers dismissed the claims.
