The future of warfare has been made a reality as robot dogs have been introduced into the US warfare. The four-legged robot dogs were seen on an airfield in the Mojave Desert. The robot dogs are designed to expose any threats from the outside to protect humans from being exposed to these threats. They give a warning sign for humans to act quickly.
The use of this artificial intelligence is just one link to what is known as the Advanced Battle Management System. The electric canines will detect and counter threats in the US airspace and any other possible attacks of missiles or other means.
The assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, technology and logistics Will Roper told CNN that on a future battlefield, ”soldiers will face a dizzying array of information to assess and will need to rely on data synthesis done in nanoseconds to fight effectively”.
”Valuing data as an essential warfighting resource one no less vital than jet fuels or satellites is the key to the next-gen warfare, he said”.The ABMS exercise involved every branch of the US military and was conducted from August 31st to September 3rd. Thirty locations have since been used in this exercise.
The dogs were made to be part of this mix in the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. A member of AirForce’s 621st Contingency Response Group said,” The dogs give us visuals of the area, all while keeping our defenders closer to the aircraft”.
The manufacturer of the robot dogs Ghost Robotics is situated in Philadephia; the dogs are called Vision 60 UGVS or ”autonomous unmanned ground vehicles”.They are also designed to work under any environment and terrain; they also have a simple platform reducing any complexities, which means that they are durable. They may be a vital component in the US military of the future.
