Canadian company under fire for posting job ads aimed at the unvaccinated

A Canadian-based canoeing company is under fire after placing job ads aimed exclusively at people not vaccinated against covid-19.

“Please DO NOT apply if you have had any vaccinations against covid-19”, the job advertisement read. Souris River Canoes. “We will only consider unvaccinated individuals.”

According to the The Independent, Canadian company owners were looking for candidates for two full-time and one part-time positions, with a duration of six months and the potential to be renewed.

The ads caused a negative reaction by customers on social networks. “Requiring that personnel not be vaccinated against covid-19 as a condition of employment is both irresponsible and reckless at this stage of the pandemic,” wrote Rob Prdn, in Facebook.

At the Reddit, it was released a email of the owners Keith and Arlene Robinson, in which they claimed to be “against government and business intimidation people’s right to sanitary freedom, using vaccine mandates and passports”.

“You are entitled to your judgmental attitudes and opinions, just as we are entitled to make our own business hiring decisions,” they added.

These ads came at a time when many employers across Canada’s industries are asking employees to get vaccinated. Otherwise, they will have to look for another job.
