Guinea Bissau. Radio silenced by armed men

“There were colleagues who recognized one of the cars they got out of, it was from the presidency”, said one of the journalists who escaped the attack on Rádio Capital.

Radio Capital, from Bissau, connoted as being critical of the Guinean government, was the target of an attack by armed men with their faces covered, on Monday, causing at least seven injuries, some of them in a serious condition. Several terrified journalists and staff jumped out of the window to try to escape, while the attackers fired into the air and invaded the radio, vandalizing the premises and ordering everyone to lie on the ground.
