Merkel bids farewell to post with punk music


The Guardian says the chancellor may want to give the music a modern read: “a howl of frustration at men who don’t do their jobs properly,” in a critique of her male colleagues.

After 16 years representing Germany, Angela Merkel will have her farewell ceremony this Thursday, and will pass the portfolio next week to Olaf Scholz, and was entitled to choose three songs to be played. One of them is sung by the punk icon: Nina Hagen.
