More than half a million people have died of covid-19 in the United States since the beginning of the pandemic, according to figures published on Monday (22) by Johns Hopkins University, a reference center on the coronavirus.
The 400,000 dead mark had been surpassed just a month ago, on January 19, the eve of President Joe Biden’s inauguration, which made the fight against the pandemic one of his government’s priorities.
