For now, it is possible to affirm that the scientific consensus points to the zoonotic origin of the new coronavirus, which confirms the Chinese version that the pathogen passed from bats to an animal and from that to the first human carriers. But the consensus is being shaken by new information.
A video apparently shot inside a laboratory in Wuhan, China, which appears to show bats in cages, has fueled speculation about the origins of the covid-19 pandemic.
THE Sky News Australia posted the video on YouTube last Sunday and the images deny the information advanced by the Chinese government, which has always ensured that there were no live bats in the laboratory in Wuhan, the epicenter of the pandemic.
According to Newsweek, it is possible to see images of bats inside a cage and of a researcher feeding an animal with a live worm. A static image also shows a group of scientists “catching bats”.
It is believed that the unpublished video, recorded in 2017, has been made inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and produced for the launch of the level 4 laboratory .
“This proves that much of what we were told about the origin of the pandemic was Chinese misinformation, propagated by many people who worked together with the Wuhan Institute of Virology who are committed, who have had extreme conflicts of interest“, said the presenter of Sky News Sharri Markson.
“People like Peter Daszak insisted that it was a conspiracy theory – he used the term itself in a tweet December 2020″, noted Markson, drawing attention to the zoologist Peter Daszak, which was part of the World Health Organization (WHO) mission to Wuhan.
At the time, the expert had said that any insinuation about the presence of live bats in the laboratory was an innuendo.
EXCLUSIVE: The Wuhan Institute of Virology kept live bats in cages, new footage from inside the facility has revealed.
This disproves denials from the World Health Organization investigators like Peter Daszak who claimed the suggestion was a “conspiracy”. https://t.co/XGokKUmWzS

The theory that the covid-19 pandemic could have been triggered by a laboratory accident in Wuhan has gained traction in recent months.
Recently, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, asked the US intelligence services to “double their efforts” to try to explain the origin of the new coronavirus and demanded a report within 90 days.
