Kyrie Irving had 29 points as the leading scorer for the Brooklyn Nets, who defeated the Utah Jazz 130-96.
Brooklyn started the day having lost two games in a row and four of the last five.
The Nets led 35-14 after the first quarter and 63-44 at halftime. Brooklyn’s 19-point halftime lead was the largest in about 10 months. In the Nets’ 139-120 win over the San Antonio Spurs on March 6, 2020, they held a 21-point lead (75-54) at halftime.
Irving scored 20 of his 29 points in the first half of the game.
Irving was a factor in the Nets’ first-half attack, scoring 18 points in the first quarter and 20 at halftime.
Irving’s 18 points in the first quarter were the third-best by a player on any team in a first quarter this season. His 20 points in the first half marked the fifth time this season that he had goals in a first half.
Backup Caris LeVert had 24 points and Jarret Allen added a double-double of 19 points and 18 rebounds for the Nets.
For the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell had 31 points as the leading scorer.
Jordan Clarkson scored 12 points and Rudy Gobert had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
