Despite his complaints of difficulty breathing, the officer did not release the embrace. He was eventually taken to hospital where he died a short time later. The latest death of a black man after white police officers intervened has angered the city and reignited accusations of racism against the police. All four officers were fired.

In an Instagram post, LeBron James expressed his disgust by posting a montage featuring a photo of the policeman with his knee on George Floyd’s neck alongside a shot of Colin Kaepernick, a US soccer player who became famous for putting his knee on the ground during the American anthem played before games to protest racism in the United States.

“That’s why,” the cliché captions. “Do you understand now? Or is it always blurry for you?” asked the Los Angeles Lakers star.
